How did you come up with the characters for the book?
Just like the characters in the book, Marlow Moo and Little Boo are based on real dogs. Marlow Moo is a golden doodle and Little Boo is a miniature poodle.
Marlow Moo is a happy, go lucky dog that is always wagging her tail and loves everyone. Her best friend, Little Boo, is a sassy, dignified, older girl that prefers to be carried around like a princess.
The character, Dolores Doreen, is nicknamed Dink by her friends and family. This endearing nickname came from a childhood friend of the author who was tiny but mighty.
The group of furry friends are also inspired by real-life dogs. The big dogs, Zed and Delilah, are Great Danes. The German Shepherd named Cress was a loyal pal to everyone. Many of the dogs in the book are rescue dogs including Tess, a quirky mixed breed.
